AUTOMATION…QUALITY, CONSISTENCY, EFFICIENCY

Robotic Pick & Place Cell RMGPPC-1200

AUTOMATED PACKAGING SYSTEMS & ROBOTIC AUTOMATION

Robotic pick and place cells are increasingly becoming the application of choice for all industries requiring consistent quality, high production throughputs and safe working processes.

Pick and place cells speed up the process of picking parts up and placing them in new locations, increasing production rates and ensuring high levels of quality. Suitable for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and many other industries.

The cells can be integrated to compliment automated systems already in place, utilising much of the current equipment and within the same floor space.  The RMGPPC-1200 has a very small footprint ensuring a cost effective, safe and high-speed solution.

The Next Generation In Automation

PICK & PLACE ROBOTS, ASSEMBLY, PACKAGING & INSPECTION

While pick and place robots are used in a number of different ways, the three types of applications listed below are some of the most common in today’s manufacturing facilities

Assembly: Pick and place robots, during assembly processes, pick an incoming part from a conveyor belt and then place this part onto another work piece, which is then typically carried away by another conveyor belt.

Packaging: For primary packaging, similar to assembly processes, a pick and place robot picks a part on an incoming conveyor belt and, rather than assemble the part, the robot places it in a packaging container at a high speed. The secondary packaging maybe that of placing the initial product into a case or tray. In order to then be palletised.

Inspection: Vision systems can monitor products moving on an incoming conveyor belt and detect defective products, and then a pick and place robot can remove the defective product before it reaches the final phases of production.

Cells can include product identification and may involve an integrated vision system registering the product on the infeed conveyor. Robot end of arm tooling is designed in-house by experienced design engineers to suit each solution individually and could incorporate vacuum, clamps, fingers, pins depending on the nature of the product.

Principle Of Operation

Product is conveyed into the pick and place cell. Empty crates/trays are inserted manually or conveyed from de-stacking system, sensors detect the product in position and once full, the crate/case is ejected onto the out-feed conveying.

The cell is designed to allow ease of maintenance and clean down whilst utilising minimal floor space. The robust 6 axis robot allows flexible and versatile packing, for an ever changing consumer market.
